Concepto de Sociedad Científica
Las Sociedades Médicos Científicas son instituciones civiles sin fines de lucro, dedicadas a una rama de la Medicina específica y especializada, sujetas a Estatutos y Reglamentación propia, reuniendo a médicos de similar área de las ciencias médicas o de disciplinas afines, en concordancia con las Leyes en vigencia y los Estatutos y Reglamentos del Colegio Médico de Bolivia.

Las Sociedades Científicas llevan la denominación de la especialidad correspondiente y tienen el siguiente orden jerárquico: Nacional, Filiar Departamental y Provincial.
